Patricia Calvert

Acclaimed American author of children's books. Born in Montana in 1931. She wanted to be a writer from an early age, her imagination fuelled by her mother's love of spinning yarns and reading aloud to her children. However it was not until much later in life, when her own children were grown, that she began to pursue her dream of becoming a writer. She has now written many novels, some award-winning and also a few non-fiction titles. Amongst her fictional works, are a handful of horse-themed stories.

Collector's Info:
The books are all easy to find in the USA, especially the paperback editions. The Snowbird was the only one to be published in the UK and although not common, copies can be found on the internet. The other two are rarely seen in the UK and will probably have to be bought from America, but as they are usually low cost this may not prove too expensive.
